Board of Directors Applications Open

10/30/2025

The Historic Harmar Bridge Company is currently accepting applications for two open Board of Directors seats.

The HHBC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that has been in operation since 1985.  The organization owns the Historic Harmar Railroad Bridge and adjacent property on the west side of the Muskingum River.

The HHBC is currently pursuing adaptive re-use strategies for the Historic Harmar Bridge structure to be developed into a fully accessible multi-use pedestrian artery, re-establishing a vital connection between Downtown Marietta and the Historic Harmar Village.  Additionally, the organization aims to develop its west side property and Harmar Days Festival grounds into a community oriented multi-use recreational space and trailhead for local and regional active transportation networks.  Our development objectives are supported by year round fundraising efforts and require active participation from all Board Directors.

All appointments to the Board shall be for a term of two (2) years beginning January 1, 2026.  No person shall serve more than three (3) consecutive terms unless a majority of the Board votes to appoint a Board Director one (1) additional term.  No person shall serve more than eight (8) consecutive years.  After serving the maximum total number of consecutive years on the Board, a person may be eligible for reconsideration as a Board Director after one (1) year has passed since the conclusion of such Director's service.

Please use this form to provide relevant and applicable information about yourself so that the Board of Directors may determine the best fit between applicants and the organization.

Applications to the HHBC Board of Directors must be submitted no later than 5pm on November 14th..

The following information will be shared with current HHBC board members and its Executive Director.
